Terms of Use

By downloading, installing, or using PaneVue ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

1. License

PaneVue is licensed, not sold, to you. Upon purchase from the Mac App Store, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on any Mac that you own or control, subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

2. Permitted Use

You may use PaneVue for personal or commercial file management purposes, including:

Browsing, copying, moving, renaming, and deleting local files
Connecting to SFTP servers for remote file management
Connecting to Google Drive and OneDrive accounts
Compressing and decompressing archive files
Using Git integration features for version control

3. Restrictions

You agree not to:

Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
Modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on the App
Redistribute, sublicense, rent, lease, or lend the App
Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
Remove or alter any proprietary notices, labels, or marks on the App

4. Third-Party Services

PaneVue allows you to connect to third-party services (SFTP servers, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. PaneVue is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of third-party services.

5. Data and File Operations

PaneVue performs file operations (copy, move, delete, compress, etc.) as directed by you. You are solely responsible for:

Maintaining backups of your important files
Ensuring you have appropriate permissions for the files you manage
The accuracy and security of SFTP connections and credentials you configure
Any data transferred to or from cloud storage services

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. File operations carry inherent risks, including potential data loss. You use the App at your own risk.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL PANEVUE OR ITS DEVELOPERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP.

8. Intellectual Property

PaneVue, its logo, and all related trademarks, trade names, and designs are the property of PaneVue. All rights not expressly granted herein are reserved.

9. Updates

We may release updates to the App from time to time through the Mac App Store. These updates may include bug fixes, new features, or security improvements. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of any modified terms.

10. Termination

This license is effective until terminated. Your rights under this license will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with any of its terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the App and delete all copies.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which PaneVue operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
